Young Hit Wonder's dives in a swimming pool. San Diego, California. Friday 12th January.
Christmas was now over from the time off Shawn had from wrestling like everybody else, but he did tend to get bored over Christmas as it was snowing and he couldn't go out and jump on the trampoline like he always wanted to, being a hyperactive kid he is at age of nineteen years old. He's still a teenager who many at his age can dream of being professional wrestlers, but Shawn was living it.
Today is very different from the other days he's usually resting in hotels or jumping on trampolines, there's something that Konrad did suggest for Shawn to do which Konrad told him the other day he does on occasions sometimes that he goes to jump on the diving board to practice high flying moves. Shawn thought it was a great idea as he never even thought of doing something like that. At the same time knew he had to talk about the match as before he does, he does a few wrestling moves off from the diving board to splash into the warm water below. After he done a few, he goes on camera and begins to speak.
Shawn Young: "It's great to start the new year off with a title defense against a man who's defeated me once before and pretty equal on the amount of wins we've had, a man who'd gonna push me through limits with this upcoming match, Adam Sanders. There's no doubt in my mind this guy is a future champion in WCG, heck he's came the closest to win this Long Beach title from me. Why's that? Because of his mentor Adrien, pushing and training him so hard to get this far of belonging in this match against me."
Taking a quick break to once again go on the diving board and does some moves that weren't even in his wrestling moveset. He just was hyperactive with his quirky fast talk he does at times. He stops once again to go straight on camera and continues.
Shawn Young: "I have nothing, but respect for Adam on the amount of hardwork he does to get where he is and has no signs of giving up when losses take a toll on him. Some people would leave the company and the business if they got the amount of losses he has, but I know he's a very dangerous threat I have no choice, but to take seriously because I hear his frustrations about losing matches and I completely understand. I understand how fired up he is to take this belt away from me."
Never has Shawn been focused on Adam, well he's been forced to because he poses a major threat to not take his eye off his opponent who he respects a lot and has no signs of giving up and he continues.
Shawn Young: "He's gonna come in and be at his full potential when it comes to facing me because he has the determination to beat me. I know the kid has a bright future ahead of him and I stick by that from what I said back in October. You've shown me in the ring and from your last video how badly you want to prove people wrong and become champion. You will, there's no question about it, but the problem with that is I'm not gonna let go of this belt. This Young Hit Wonder has a lot left to prove in the Long Beach division."
He meant it with every single word coming from him as he hadn't proved much yet of being a credible champion as he goes up the diving board and does his finishing move from the diving board which he lands successfully. He does other bunch of moves as well, being hyperactive due to his excitement of facing Adam Sanders and he rushes over to the cameras and speaks again.
Shawn Young: "Last time I remember when we fought, we tore the house down with the crowd going crazy on the bunch of moves we pulled on one another, especially having near falls on each other. Heck some say it was one of the best matches of last year because of how competitive we were, but we're the future of wrestling and you're indeed threatening me in terms of how you wrote last time. I never feel your awkward at all because the main important thing is you can defeat me, but I got to prevent making mistakes once again against you because you can encounter them very easily."
Shawn was so excited that he slaps himself in the face, forgetting how this wasn't a WCG Hype or Unscripted show and goes into details about it.
Shawn Young: "I got carried away again that I almost forgot it's a Supershow event this time around which adds in the pressure for me because in all my time of being in this sport, I've never wrestled in one of these special shows in my life, let alone defending the title in one as this is the first time I'm wrestling at a Supershow and that's fantastic as I always dreamt to be featured in a big event like Crossroad: Ascension. It's something I'm taking for granted and more so I'm gonna successfully defend the title to show the entire world I have what it takes to continue to be Long Beach champion for quite sometime."
There wasn't much more to say towards Adam Sanders, considering he hadn't said anything bad towards Shawn and had a huge amount of respect for him on his will to get better. He does at least ten wrestling moves jumps on the diving board, going crazy as his mentor was right, it does help to get better at high flying moves than just jumping from a turnbuckle or trampoline all the time and it's benefited him more than he thought.
Shawn Young: "We'll have a great match once again, making the crowd go off their feet to show the moves we can pull off with you working harder to get this title I hold and be successful, but at the same time, I'm gonna do everything possible for you to not walk away from Crossroad: Ascension Supershow as the champion as I'll pin you for the three count in the middle of the ring with my hand and title raised above my head. I'll see you tomorrow night Adam and may the best man win."
Those were the last words Shawn said towards his opponent, being dead focused on him as he does a few more jumps on the diving board before he goes into the changing rooms to get changed before he heads towards his hotel room to grab his gym gear to get a bit of gym time in before going to his room again three hours later to get something to eat and drink before relaxing to watch TV before going straight off to sleep before the day of his Long Beach title defense against Adam Sanders.
