Discussions about title opportunities and facing champions in the triple threat match. Chicago, Illinois. Sunday 13th January.
It's a new start of the year for everyone to think what their plans are for this year and go to discuss them, however for Konrad, he didn't have any ideas for UGWC. It's the only company he didn't know where his spot lies, the only company he didn't know what's going to happen when he steps into the ring tomorrow night. Because he went on lockdown due to a title match he had on Friday for the Dragonweight title in Rebellion Pro, he only found out about his match in UGWC yesterday from Jerry Flack.
Konrad had no preparation done for the match, although he had been working out non stop with Saturday being the only day he had a rest from gym work to get engaging with his family and friends once again. He made sure he visits Mattia to check through if he's making payments correctly which Mattia is at this time.
As of right now, Mattia's at work, fixing a van and a car today as a mechanic, while he and Jerry were all alone in Mattia's small apartment as he's got a new sofa bed for Konrad to sleep on when he comes over to visit. It was now time for Jerry and Konrad to sit on the sofa in the living room to discuss UGWC wrestling business as Jerry does with saying this.
Jerry Flack: “So, have you thought about what I've said to you last year?”
Konrad Raab: “Not really. I haven't had time with the only week I had time off from wrestling was the Christmas week.”
Jerry Flack: “Maybe you should think about it, especially when you're facing against a cooperative and a Cross-Hemisphere champion this week.”
Konrad Raab: “I know, you told me about it.”
Jerry Flack: “This match is a sign for something big to come. There's a reason you're in this match. It's not just because of your win against Maria Salvatore at Horizons either.”
Konrad shakes his head as he in his mind doesn't feel ready for the upcoming match as he looks on the floor with Jerry once again, pushing Konrad's intention to consider contending for a title match and doing it as soon as Konrad could and he says this.
Konrad Raab: “One win at the PPV isn't good enough, Jerry.”
Jerry Flack: “I know how much you want to earn your place on the roster, but to tell you the truth, you have earned your spot on the roster by going out, busting your ass to be a great wrestler. I was praying you'd face against Magdalena Lockheart because I know you can defeat her and when you do, it will open doors for you to fight her.”
Konrad Raab: “You're right, it would be better to earn an opportunity to face Magdalena for the Cross-Hemisphere title than just paying my way to the top. I still don't know how to accept something that's out of my comfort zone. It's just a moral I've stuck to, ever since I changed my outlook on the wrestling business.”
Jerry Flack: “I keep telling you, it's the way things work in UGWC. You need to battle acceptance of that. You need to realise a lot of wrestlers have gotten themselves title shots by cashing money in for title matches.”
Konrad consistently shook his head as he still finds it unacceptable to use the money to pay for opportunities and Jerry was getting tired of Konrad, fighting against the system of the money situation of paying to the top. He cares about wrestling way too much as Jerry says this.
Jerry Flack: “However, if you defeat Magdalena and Dave Rydell, doesn't that say to the entire UGWC world you're ready for a title match? I mean I felt you were ready when you defeated Dave last year in a non-title match.”
Konrad Raab: “I see your point. I want to defeat Magdalena, there's no doubt about that, but I want to break the system of me knowing I believe in myself to be able to defeat Magdalena so I'd earn my shot for her title. I want to make a statement that I don't need to use the money to get a title shot and earned it by being a better wrestler.”
Jerry Flack: “With Dave Rydell standing in the middle of the pair of you.”
Konrad Raab: “Yeah, I did shut Dave up after all so of course, I feel despite it being in two thousand and nine, we still have a grudge against each other. I proved him wrong with the win I got over him, overcoming the bully he was in the match.”
Other than winning an opportunity to be a Cooperative title contender, he considers that win being the biggest win he had so far in his UGWC career. It was massive for him to overcome his consistent battle all of his time in the mental training camp Konrad was on for two and a half weeks of hell he went through to tackle his mental demons that kept costing Konrad matches.
It's still the reason why Jerry has to be with him every single time he wrestles to keep Konrad in check, and it's one of those moments where Konrad does need Jerry now and again to not fall back into his old patterns, and Jerry fears that when it comes to UGWC.
Jerry Flack: “Why is it that the only time you feel down is when it comes to UGWC company?”
Konrad Raab: “Because I don't know where I stand. I've not allowed trash talking or losses get to me as much as they used to in the past.”
Jerry Flack: “That's true, you haven't, but you're allowing the doubts about you succeeding in UGWC get to you, especially the whole thing about the paying for title shots.”
Konrad Raab: “Maybe it's easy for everyone else, including my opponents to accept, but it's hard for me. If I went back to how I was as a wrestler in two thousand and eleven and two thousand and twelve, I would've used the money to pay for title shots one hundred per cent.”
Jerry nods, he did manage to see what Konrad was talking about when he watched his matches against Vantage, Angelica Monroe and Trisha Monroe to know how real his tensions were. He would've taken shortcuts, and it's that of him reminding himself not to be that guy again that got him the spot he was at, and Jerry says this while drinking some orange juice, while Konrad has water.
Jerry Flack: “I understand. It's good you remind yourself never to take shortcuts to the top ever again. It's good also you've made changes to not resort to your old self, knowing it nearly cost your wrestling career.”
Konrad Raab: “Because if I went back to being that pathetic man, I would have nothing. Fizz said if I repeated those mistakes, she'd divorce me and leave me on my own. I'm guessing you've watched my old matches.”
Jerry Flack: “I did, and I can see why you've maintained the whole aspect of being an honourable wrestler because you've come so far with it and it's when you've made those changes, you became a much better wrestler out of it. I saw that guy; I never thought he'd take himself seriously, acting it's one big joke.”
Konrad Raab: “It will never happen again because I nearly got banned from ever stepping into a wrestling ring and the business in general. I acted the way I did because I had no experience. Now you see why it's important that I follow my morals and do anything possible to defeat both Dave Rydell and Magdalena Lockheart.”
Jerry now understands Konrad a lot more with him watching his past matches in a company known as World Elite Wrestling when Konrad was not the man he sees today; he was a completely different guy who disrespected the wrestling business and willingly would do anything to get a title shot if he was a full-time wrestler.
Jerry Flack: “Despite you fearing you'd step into that part of you again, you know you need to conquer paying for titles acceptance battle you got going on. It's not like those days anymore, that's what you need to understand. Does anyone care about your past?”
Konrad Raab: “I know nobody does, but I do because it reminds me of how close I was of not being a wrestler.”
Konrad has a quick pause to quickly change his idea of Jerry who clearly wants Konrad to think positively about the match and he says this with a rapid change of how he now views the match.
Konrad Raab: “I need to win this match tomorrow night because the truth is, the pressure isn't on Dave and Magdalena, they've been solo's champions in the past, they've been solo's title contenders in the past, but I haven't. I've not gotten anywhere near close to that. The pressure is on me to do well.”
Jerry Flack: “Use that fucking motivation for the match Konrad, that's what I was waiting for. The Konrad who will do anything it takes to win against Dave and Magdalena to be the Cross-Hemisphere title contender you want so much.”
Konrad Raab: “That's my goal to do at least for this match, and I will win because I've been busting my ass to get where I am, busting my ass to get better every single time I step into that UGWC ring. I don't plan on giving up and I won't. You and the rest of the world will see soon enough what I'm made to do in the triple threat match.”
There's nothing left for Jerry to say as he did spark up the ice bite in him, seeing the determination to remind him as to why he's placed in the match. It's a huge opportunity to see if Konrad could hang with Dave and Magdalena, to see if he can overcome the odds against them tomorrow night. He leaves the house and finds a quiet spot to do his video via his laptop with Wi-Fi access as he saw a library to do his match talks in a room on his own.

Time for the Iceman to prove himself in a massive opportunity match youtube.com shoot.
“The title speaks for itself really of the match being that important to me right now It seems like ever since I defeated Maria at Horizons, a potential opportunity could open doors for me and it's only the start of the year as well. I want to say it was an honour to have fought against the sadly departed Eden Morgen. I'm glad to say I've been in the ring with her and Eden's legacy lives on in UGWC.
This match could be the turning point for me, considering I've laid my eyes on wanting to win the Cross-Hemisphere title around my waist. It's the first of three belts I want to hold first before others. I say three because unless they change the Chaos title to something else, you will never see me go for the belt as I don't fit the mould of being a hardcore champion.
Of course, that doesn't mean I'm ignoring Dave Rydell who could stop me from getting that chance of me having a title opportunity. Don't get me wrong, Dave is a very brutal wrestler, we all saw that in the Chaos title match he had a few weeks ago and he could still defeat me. I know he wants to beat me after I've defeated him in the match, but I'm willing to move on from the spat we had in November and focus on our own goals.
Despite me willing to move on from the spat, I still haven't forgotten everything you've said and done to me. You overlooked me, and you can blame on everyone on the loss you got, but you only have yourself to blame. Do anything you can to pin me in the match, but it will still end up the same result as before.
Magdalena, I know and aware of you fighting against my twin brother in Carnage Wrestling, he told me shortly before I did this video. You can say he's a horrible guy, and in the wrestling business, he is, but I'm nothing like Lord Raab. I won't use weapons or trash talk to you because I respect what you've done here, just as much as I respect Dave's achievements in UGWC.
But you have to understand the pressure is indeed on me to defeat you because that title you hold, it's the one I want to win first before all the other three titles. I respect how consistent you've been defending that title. I want to be the one who breaks the system of paying for title shots to the point of defeating you in this triple threat match so I know I can earn a title match by my efforts in the ring with my wins.
That's the motivation and determination I must and will have coming into the match tomorrow night. I must show you I can bring everything I have in my own body to bring you the fight you deserve. I want to show you how badly I want a Cross-Hemisphere title shot by bringing everything I got in the ring to do anything possible to defeat you fair and square in a match.
