A surprise awaits for Konrad via phone discussion. Chicago, Illinois. Monday 12th March.
After the triple threat between Phrixus, Roxy and himself, because Konrad's been wrestling two matches in twenty-four hours in the same location and the advice from doctors in the hospital, Konrad heads straight back to his apartment to put on his bedclothes.
Konrad puts his phone on the bedside table and goes straight to sleep due to how much he's been training and working out, forcing himself to have a recovery sleep.
Two hours after he falls asleep, his phone rings as he turns over to sleep, he places his hand on the bedside table and grabs his phone and swipes his phone up before placing it in his ear being half asleep to say this.
Konrad Raab: “Who's this?”
Someone on the phone: “St. Fucking Patrick.”
Konrad Raab: “Ichabod. What can I help you with?”
Ichabod: “Are you feeling alright?”
Konrad Raab: “I'm fine.”
Konrad slowly sits up on the bed, still being half asleep as he rubs his eyes to wake up slowly before he asks the question, being completely honest.
Konrad Raab: “What else do I have to do to earn myself a title shot in UGWC?”
It's a serious question Konrad's been wondering all of this time as he's made himself sick over it, leading to people telling Konrad he needs time off from wrestling until he's better. Ichabod's silent for a while, before he answers Konrad's question.
Ichabod: “Took you long enough to ask. That's actually what I'm phoning about. How would you feel about a Cross Hemisphere championship match? I've rather enjoyed watching you--well--assert yourself and even testing your personal limits. Anyone who can take Alan Wallace to the limit twice has my attention, and you've done well against stars like Roxy and Phrixus. And if I'm being honest, I'll never get tired of watching you beat four shades of shit out of Dave Rydell.”
Konrad Raab: “When am I getting a title shot?”
Ichabod: “Well, since I enjoy watching Dave have temper tantrums where you're concerned, I'm giving you both a match against Deimos on the next Synergy.”
Konrad Raab: “Thank you so much. I'm so glad my hard work has paid off. I've been busting my ass so hard to earn a title shot.”
Ichabod: “I'm going to be honest, I've held out on giving you a shot. Not because I didn't think you deserved it, Konrad, but I wanted to know much you'd push yourself. Not one time did you come bitching through my office door, you just kept getting in the ring and fighting, no matter what I've thrown at you. I admire that.”
Konrad Raab: “I don't complain because it gets you nowhere in wrestling. I want to earn things by busting my ass.”
Ichabod: “You bust your ass, and I'm impressed. I'm not one to tell someone not to overdo it, hell, anything worth doing is worth OVERdoing. But you almost starved yourself to death on Saturday because you didn't eat for three days.”
Konrad didn't think he'd get caught from UGWC bosses from being his hospital from starvation. Ichabod has the right to know everything with his UGWC wrestlers being in a hospital or jail from their actions. Konrad wasn't able to explain because there was nothing to say as Ichabod was smart to know the situation was going on and he speaks to Konrad again.
Ichabod: “Now are you going to be ready for the title match next week?”
Konrad Raab: “Yes I will.”
Ichabod: “Good because from now on, you must eat before you step into the ring to wrestle. I'll see you next week and let you get back to sleep.”
Konrad Raab: “Don't worry, I will eat a lot of things before I wrestle next week; you can promise that.”
Konrad puts the phone down, knowing now he has a title opportunity, there is no need for any more body punishment Konrad's been doing to get a title opportunity. It came clear his hard work is now recognised, and he goes straight back to sleep, until the next day of telling Jerry what's happening next Monday on UGWC Synergy show before Konrad heads to Cologne, Germany.

Mental workout in a dojo. Chicago, Illinois. Sunday 17th March.
It's only last night Konrad arrived in Chicago after wanting to spend time with his family, although was in Cologne, Germany most of the week to sort out the court case for adopting a teenage boy. Jerry woke up from his bed and called out Konrad's name while Jerry was in his apartment, but he didn't respond.
When he got to the living room, there's a note, stating Konrad was at a dojo downtown, not far from the apartment with the address on it. Jerry sighs, shaking his head, shaking with fear on Konrad disappearing during the day and says this.
Jerry Flack: “I hope Konrad's eaten something before he went to the dojo.”
Jerry goes to his bedroom and places his clothes on before he grabs Konrad's apartment keys, his phone and money to leave the bedroom, picking up the note Konrad left in the living room and Jerry leaves Konrad's apartment. After he goes downstairs, he looks at the piece of paper and finds the name of the road and a small map of where to go.
It took him ten minutes to find a dojo which he eventually does which states karate dojo on it. Jerry got curious as he didn't know much past from Fizz and Konrad's wrestling career. He goes in the dojo and sees Konrad, wearing a gi with a yellow belt, doing all sort of movements, saying kai very loudly, even throwing in some kicks and punches on the way.
Jerry decides to sit down for a while, watching Konrad going all around the dojo with karate movements. Once he goes near Jerry, he stops and bows to the room and turns to Jerry who's surprised to see Konrad doing karate and he says this.
Jerry Flack: “Why are you doing karate?”
Konrad Raab: “It's my mental workout. What you saw me do is called kata. It helps me release stress when I'm doing kata.”
Jerry Flack: “You never told me you did karate.”
Konrad Raab: “Well, now you do. I also do karate with my second eldest son as I take him to his karate lessons when I can.”
Although it was a pleasant surprise to see Konrad doing something constructive that doesn't involve going to the gym, Jerry groans as Konrad notices the fear of Jerry's face about something and he nods, understanding the possibility of him passing out again was high.
Konrad Raab: “Don't worry, I ate pieces of fruit before I came here.”
Jerry Flack: “Thank goodness.”
Konrad Raab: “I made a promise to Ichabod last week. I'll start eating again. I want to continue where I left off with kata. Give it a try with me, it's very relaxing, although it doesn't seem like it the amount of sweat I pour from my face, proving you take your shoes and socks off first.”
Jerry accepts, and he takes his shoes and socks off before he steps on the mat and follows what Konrad does. Although it's at a slower pace, Jerry tries to copy everything Konrad's doing, although he gets some bits wrong. Konrad smiles, seeing Jerry making an effort to do kata with Konrad.
Jerry Flack: “While this is good stuff, you need to focus on Phrixus Deimos and Dave Rydell for the Cross-Hemisphere title.”
Konrad Raab: “Why do you think I chose to do karate kata today? To help me relax and think about the title match. It helps to remove the stress away so I can go on camera later with a calmer attitude than I have in the past few weeks.”
Jerry Flack: “No kidding.”
A loud kai when Konrad turned when he punches with his fist and throws in some kicks, while Jerry was trying to get the footing right with kata. Konrad finds it hard to go slowly due to how much he's been practising with kata. Jerry did get the hang of it, just about and he does want to talk about the Cross-Hemisphere title match as he asks this.
Jerry Flack: “Can we talk about the title match?”
Konrad Raab: “In a minute. Let me focus on finishing my mental workout.”
Jerry knew it was going to take more than a minute for Konrad to finish up. Jerry saw the positives of Konrad doing a mental workout this week, moving around, using punches, kicks and body movements, even sidestepping with his feet. Jerry stops five minutes before Konrad does.
Konrad bows at the mat and he along with Jerry place their socks and shoes on before they walk back to Konrad's apartment and they sat down to discuss the match, although, from the mental workout, Konrad already knows what the plan is.
Konrad Raab: “I've beaten Dave Rydell twice before, and it wouldn't surprise me if he repeats the same stuff he talks about before our previous matches and videos in general. Phrixus Deimos was the one who got pinned last week.”
Jerry Flack: “While it's good to feel confident, mustn't underrate your opponents.”
Konrad Raab: “Of course not. I'm not like Dave Rydell or likely Phrixus Deimos who always seem to do those things every single week. I was placed in a title match because I busted my ass for ten months to get a title shot and I'm going to beat both men, even if Phrixus outweighs me a lot, but speed and agility is a must for me in this match to use.”
Jerry Flack: “I guess you're smart after all. No wonder why you use karate kata for the match. After all, I know you'll win the title with how mentally focused you are. Least experienced of the title contenders, but you can overcome the big dogs and see yourself as champion.”
Konrad already wants to go on video to promote for the title match because of how focused he is. Although he's reminded to eat from the actions Jerry's doing, he nods and goes to the fridge to see a salad for him, since it's lunchtime. Konrad brings the salad to the kitchen table and eats it. He places the fork down and says this.
Konrad Raab: “Of course I will win because I believe I can do it. Ten months of hard work for a solo's title opportunity will be paying off. None of the tactics Phrixus and Dave did, handing themselves title shots. They will see when they'll see a healthy Iceman who won't feel sick, bring his best to Phrixus and Dave.”
Jerry Flack: “Indeed, not to forget about the decision to make about the Vain offer too.”
Konrad Raab: “I haven't forgotten; just my main focus right now is defeating Dave and Phrixus for the Cross-Hemisphere title.”
Jerry Flack: “Of course, that's a priority on the list.”
Konrad Raab: “Especially when it's likely the only shot I'll get for the title for a while so I can't mess this up and I won't as I'll walk away from UGWC arena as the new Cross-Hemisphere champion.”
Konrad finished up his salad before he washes his plate up and he goes straight into his bedroom, setting his laptop up to go on a live youtube stream to start his video. Konrad's more motivated than he has been in the last few weeks before Konrad goes live to speak about the title opportunity he's getting on Monday night.
-------------------------------
Time for The Iceman to crack the ice open youtube.com shoot.
“Pretty much states what it says in the title, the biggest opportunity I've had since ten months of being apart of UGWC. Hard work has paid off after all. It's the first time I can say I've never felt better than I've been just because I've not had to push my body too hard. It's been nice to say I've been to the gym and not being there every single day. I know I have a decision to make regarding the Lord of Trios tournament team with Vain. I will decide on the show because the Cross-Hemisphere title shot is far more important.
Especially when I'm going up against Dave Rydell and Phrixus Deimos, of course, everyone knows what they are capable of in title matches in UGWC, everyone's seen their real potential, but what can The Iceman do? I know I haven't done the one thing they've had to do, hand themselves title shots. I know Ichabod has given me a title shot, but I had to work for it, something both Phrixus and Dave weren't willing to do.
That's not to say the Cooperation title defences weren't hard work cos they were and it's good to see a team of Dave and Angelica can work very well together, even with their characteristics being different from each other, they still gelled well as a team. It's not often you see two very different characters work together. The reign was very long, and that's something I will give Dave credit for because being cooperation champion is harder than you'd think.
The problem is I know what Dave's going to say about me and to be honest, it's beating a dead horse at this point, and I won't discuss what he says because he repeats it time and time again. I'm sick of it Dave, find something new to say about me. Who knew Ichabod likes seeing you throw a fit each time I've defeated you in the ring? Will you be a man and accept the title loss and other losses you've had against me were legit or throw a fit like the other times?
Have I had a ton of losses? Damn right I have, but unlike you, I use those losses to get better in the ring every time as evidence seen from my matches as of late because I've been killing myself and my body for a title opportunity. That isn't to say I'm overlooking you; you should know me better to know you're still a threat in the match.
I haven't forgotten the champion himself, Phrixus Deimos. At least Phrixus to give him credit has seen the amount of work I've done to get to the title shot. We wrestled each other last week, well with Roxy Cotton involved. As I said, you've defeated Maggie Lockheart for the Cross-Hemisphere title in a short amount of minutes. That's impressive, considering the credibility Maggie has for this business and the length of the title reign she had too.
Although you should ask everyone, who was the one who got themselves pinned last week? Everyone thought I'd be the one pinned for the three count, but it wasn't. It was you, and you have to find a way to prove yourself on how good of a champion you are because you've not had a title defence yet.
Despite your size, I can outwrestle you with my speed and agility, the style I've been working on for a year. I'm going to do everything possible to beat you and Dave to pin either one of you for the three-count because I'm confident and prepared to do so on the biggest match of my god damn life.
I'm not letting this title opportunity slip away from me, and everyone I know wants to see The Iceman finally breaking the ice open to no longer feel he hasn't held a title in UGWC. I will walk away from Chicago as you both will be prepared to be Iceinated by the new Cross-Hemisphere champion when I'll raise the Cross-Hemisphere title above my head and celebrate with the fans afterwards. The Iceman era of UGWC will finally arrive sooner than later.”
