Observing Konrad's karate lesson. Bridgeport, Connecticut. Sunday 11th August.
There are forty students inside of a karate dojo, one of them includes a man known as Konrad Raab, but the other guy who's observing him, sitting in the spectator's area, was a guy who's a fan of one of Konrad's opponents for tomorrow night, Mark Andrews. Mark's got a short beard and in his mid-twenties, looking at what Konrad's doing. What Mark Andrews sees is Konrad doing slow, flowing movements with his whole body, leaving Mark holding his head, looking lost as to what he's doing.
Before the particular lesson started, he saw signs of stress and fear of Konrad, seeing him shaky, having trembling lips and chin, not having the ability to talk to anyone which Mark witnesses Konrad ignoring one of the students. Konrad moves with the rest of the class, but unlike the other students, Mark sees a difference in Konrad to the other students. Konrad closed his eyes, feeling the movement of what was known, later on, kata.
Mark got a pen and notepad out and wrote some notes about Konrad doing Karate. Mark shrugs his shoulders, not seeing the reason why Konrad does Karate, but then what he does witness is a little boy calling his daddy. Mark Andrews sees Konrad responding to the little boy by saying yes, Roderick. Mark then hears the conversation between Roderick and Konrad.
Roderick Raab (Konrad's second eldest son) "Why are you so frightened?"
Konrad Raab: "Because of my wrestling match tomorrow. It's why I'm doing kata to help me relax and remove my fears."
Roderick nods at his dad, knowing it helps Konrad to do something with his son, bringing a smile on Mark's face, seeing how much Roderick got concerned of Konrad feeling shaky and intense. However, Roderick was busy doing Karate moves with a partner of his age as he wanted to defend himself, while Konrad was doing kata as a form of mental training.
Mark sees how fast the kata group were moving around with their bodies, shouting Kai each time they moved, likewise the fighting group when they were practising techniques. It seemed to get through in Mark's head about what Konrad's doing with the training group he's in, and he says this to himself.
Mark Andrews: "That's a good idea to use kata as a way to relax and gain focus."
If Mark had said more than what he said just now, it would've made Konrad pay attention and the time for that wasn't for right now as he sighs in relief, wiping his head across his forehead as once again, he takes notes, nodding his head to understand what he sees right now. Mark then notices the different colour belts the students were wearing.
Mark pays attention to Konrad's orange belt and sees Roderick wearing a green belt, being a grade higher than Konrad. Mark wrote down about Konrad's slow progress as to why his son was a green belt, and Konrad was an orange belt. He wasn't able to say anything as he hears a loud inhale from the students as a form of relieving stress. Mark wasn't able to tell if it was from their lungs or their nose.
Mark Andrews: "Wonder why they are doing that?"
Instructor overheard Mark's comment, wondering why they inhale so loud along with saying Kai as he goes over to him as Mark scratches his chin due to his beard being itchy and then scratching his head.
Karate Instructor: "They have to breathe and say Kai because it gives them the power to be strong and giving them relaxation. Do you want to join in?"
Mark Andrews: "I'm more than happy to sit there and watch them, thanks."
Karate Instructor: "I understand. Kata may seem pointless, but these students use it as a way to relax their bodies and get their head in gear."
Mark nods, it's precisely what he wanted to hear, hearing Konrad's mentality wasn't as strong as it seems. Of course, he doesn't tell the karate instructor this, but it gave him an idea why Konrad was doing this activity, despite being a wrestler, but it's down to him trying to ease away from the upcoming Chaos match tomorrow night.
Mark sees sweat pouring down to the mat from Konrad as Mark wipes the bit of sweat off his forehead himself, seeing how hot it is in Connecticut. There were Karate students who Mark saw could be successful wrestlers, but he wasn't paying much attention to other students at all, just Konrad. Mark asks himself this while kata was still going on as Mark shrugs his shoulders, rubbing his chin, placing his head on his hands for a bit before removing them from his mouth.
Mark Andrews: "Why do they punch like that? Shouldn't it be like a boxer's punch?"
A student's parent: "It's because Karate's about self-defence than to provoke fights. It's far safer to punch the karate way than the boxing way."
Then Mark saw something that makes Konrad shake like crazy, an instructor pulling out a weapon, a kendo stick at that as Mark sees Konrad shaking his head after he and the rest of the kata group were told to take a break and the instructor saws Konrad walking away from the class after he saw the kendo stick and the instructor says this with Mark hearing him.
Karate Instructor: "Don't leave the class now. You come back here and do this."
Konrad Raab: "I can't. I don't want to be anywhere near a weapon as I'm afraid of them. I already feel bad what I did to a wrestler last week with a wooden table."
Karate Instructor: "If you leave now, you'll drop down to the yellow belt. Is that why you came here, demanding me to do kata?"
Konrad Raab: "It was, but I'm feeling a bit better now."
Mark slumps on the chair, looking very interested in watching the whole lesson without doing any himself and never will as his scene was being Gabrielle's fan to write down the reason for Konrad's sudden change when a kendo stick came out. Konrad walked back to the class and took a seat before one of the students who had a brown belt protects himself from being hit by a kendo stick by taking it off the instructor.
Eventually, everyone had a go at it, except the younger students who were practising defending techniques now from being choked from behind. When it came to Konrad's turn, he gulped, showing it was a lesson from hell, fearing of even being hit by a weapon, let alone using one, turning into fear. Mark then stands up from the chair and shouts.
Mark Andrews: "Just fucking defend yourself from the weapon, no matter how much it scares you."
Konrad turned around and saw a guy who had been watching every single move he makes, knowing nothing about Mark as he smiles, looking in Konrad's eyes as if he was embarrassed to be seen in his karate lesson, especially around his son. Mark sits down and writes what he's seen with Konrad's behaviour. However, Mark smirks after aggressively teasing Konrad to defend himself. In the case of the match tomorrow, Mark Andrews knew it would be a different story with how much support he'll have for Gabrielle.
Roderick Raab: "Daddy, just go for it."
That's the encouragement Konrad needed from his son as Mark quietly claps at Roderick, making Konrad go through with it as the instructor places his hand over his mouth, forgetting why it's so tricky for Konrad to go through the weapon defence training.
Karate Instructor: "Seems like Konrad is having problems with using weapons, let alone defend them. I know you hate weapons, but come on, defend yourself when I attack you."
Mark sees the nod from Konrad, sees how uncomfortable he was, but he didn't want to speak as Konrad then stepped on the mat and gets wrecked with a weapon, but the instructor wasn't going to let Konrad go until he defends the weapon. Mark hears the sigh from Konrad and steps opposite the instructor as he goes to hit, but Konrad using his arms and makes the instructor lose control of the weapon.
Karate Instructor: "Good job, Konrad."
Mark brushes his hair from his hand as he sees how much Konrad didn't like weapons at all and didn't seem too happy about it. However, Mark sees Konrad doing some kata again by himself, knowing he hated defending from a kendo stick. The instructor says the class is dismissed as everyone took a longbow and head to the locker room. Before Konrad does, he goes up to Mark, breathing in and out as he was, likewise Mark Andrews as well.
Konrad Raab: "Why were you only watching me and not other students?"
Mark Andrews: "I'm observing you. I needed to know where your head is at."
Konrad Raab: "I know where my head is at; it's perfectly fine."
Mark Andrews: "Oh you see, you might've got a win over Gabrielle last week, but you'll be eliminated first because of your fear of using weapons. I saw how frightened you are with these Chaos matches. I know you feel better now, but Gabrielle's got a plan to beat the hell out of you to be the Chaos title contender."
Mark Andrews saw Konrad being intimated only watching Konrad's actions with things in his karate class as he goes in the changing rooms to change into his clothes. Konrad and his son walk out 15 minutes later after everyone else has, leaves the dojo as Mark stands up, smiles and laughs as he sees Konrad and Roderick entering in the hotel and that's as far as Mark Andrews went as he smirks, holding his arms up in the air to get Konrad rattled up. His work's done as he goes to the hotel and goes into his room, relaxing.
Mark Andrews: "Konrad's a strange individual, doing Karate as well as playing soccer as his hobbies. He's an idiot."
Mark takes his clothes off to jump in his bed, looking at the pictures he took on his phone as he places the phone down on the table, still smiling on what he's done. He turns the lights off and goes to sleep in his bed in the hotel room.

That Chaos title contention match is mine youtube.com shoot.
"I've been working way too long to let this chance slip away from me, even with my fears still being in place. I used a weapon last week, and I feel conflicted. I wasn't proud to win against Gabrielle last week, it's not the way I should've won, but unfortunately, I did, and I have to battle to accept the damage being done now, despite me wishing I never had.
But when I woke up this morning, I did it because I was forced to use one. Right now, Jet won't be too happy with me, but it took a lot for me to use the tables. Of course, Gabrielle did prove me wrong. I was lucky to view you as a threat because if I didn't, I'd lose against you because you would've been better mentally.
You are a talented wrestler who deserves credit to prove you're serious about this business, unlike some I've met in the past with sexually charged women I've met and lost to because of my actions. I still consider you a threat, regardless of what happened last week because you nearly caught me and fought for everything you have.
Because you did view me a threat, I'm alright with that, but I also say you don't need to be a sexually charged woman to get yourself there and especially when you've only had a few matches here and already, you're getting a title shot. I've been busting my ass for five months, doing everything I can to get fully fit once again. Overall, you are a threat because you nearly caught me.
I'm not going to say this because Kate doesn't deserve it, she does, but why is she apart of this match when she's more interested in whoever the Cross-Hemisphere champion will be tomorrow. I believe you can win against Roxy Cotton to capture the title, although Angelica is first in line. I know you're motivated to want to face Roxy, but why didn't you do anything earlier?
I didn't appreciate the comment about on you saying I got my ass beaten by me. Yes, you beat me, but there was no need for that comment. All those skills you prove, yet you make a statement like that. We get it, you want the Cross-Hemisphere title and beat Roxy, but you got to go through this match first. I was goated into the Chaos division because it wasn't my decision, it was my mental trainer's decision, and with my fears of using weapons, I've been working my butt off to get this belt.
You can promise me that we'll have an excellent hard-hitting battle again, along with Gabrielle as well when I will win this match by pinfall or submission as I worked too long for it and I will go for the Chaos title because I want it more than both of you and you'll see what I mean when tomorrow night here in Connecticut, I will be the Chaos title contender because I've got the heart and soul for this business and do anything to earn my shots for things.
Gabrielle and Kate Steele, prepare to be Iceinated by The Iceman as I'll have my hands raised in the ring as the winner because not only I was better, but because of my hard work I've done as of late because I will not overcome my fears until I get a Chaos title shot, motivating me to perform to my full potential, like you both will as well. See you both tomorrow night."
